The tournament raised over $12,000.  The award to Georgia was $2000 plus $442 raised at the tournament. Georgia was unable to attend so Eric Schmidt accepted it on her behalf. Tracy said that they award $700 to the big schools and $350 to the smaller ones for the “Senior Safe and Sane” parties at the end of the school year. Lisa Bain thanked the major sponsors, Title One, Housemasters, Team Realty, Intermountain Community Bank, Hubble Homes, Idaho Press Tribune. Mayor Dale said that Ed is also very passionate about the city of Nampa as well. He comes to a lot of the city meetings and has been on a number of committees. Mayor Dale said that it is election time and we have some very important issues coming up to vote on. He said “Proposition 2” is one that we need to vote “No” on. He said this issue is being pushed by Howard Risch who is a large landowner/developer in New York, and he and his group are pushing for similar things in other western states. He said out of the $336,000 raised so far to puss this issue only $50 has come from Idaho residents. He said the add on the radio about the government wanting to take a church by “eminent domain” is a very twisted commercial. He said he is the Treasure for the group “Neighbors Protecting Idaho” which the Idaho Realtors® Association is a part of. He said that “Prop 2” has no out for city’s in Idaho should they tell a developer that they cannot develop a piece of property, then the developer can sue the city for the profit the developer says he would have been able to make, and the city would have no choice but to pay the developer. He said it is a scary proposition because if the developer is allowed to develop the property then the neighboring property owners can sue the city because of the decreased value the development could cause. He said that should it pass the city is prepared to take it to court because the proposition addresses two issues, and the constitution of the State of Idaho allows for a proposition to address only one issue. Mayor Dale then asked for questions. He said that “Idahocities.org” has compiled a lot of things to fight “Prop 2”.

Michael then said that the group raised $996.51 during the meeting by passing a basket around, for Georgia.
